OUR
PHILOSOPHY

Respecting Nature

Research into our suppliers and ingredients to ensure Nature is respected

Formulating in synergy with high quality botanicals uses less and provides more

Small batch production ensures less waste and a fresher product

Minimal packaging and glass containers where practical

Hydrosols

True Hydrosols are made when plants are distilled and the water that has passed through the plant material is collected. They have grown in popularity for their therapeutic value and high quality natural  skincare which seeks to add value use these hydrosols for their added benefit to a formulation.

Each hydrosol has different benefits relating to the plant material used .

Many hydrosols are now distilled using a  method best suited to get the best hydrosol instead of it being the by product of essential oil distillation.

High grade quality organic essential oils

There is a great variety of essential oils on the market and most commercial products use commercial grade essential oils which are processed in a manner that gets the most oil using conventional plants sprayed with pesticides and grown in soil low in nutrients. Commercial oils can also be adulterated and still called an essential oil. This produces a cheaper oil and using logic these essential oils may have aroma but little in the way of natures molecules with known therapeutic value. An oil obtained from organic farming, and hand picked at the right time of day and then distilled in small batches at the right temperature and time to get the most out of that particular plant is an art form. These distillers respect their land and their plants. I choose to support organic farming and the artisan distillers who cultivate their crops in a respectful and sustainable way.

Spring water and liquid crystals

Spring water has minerals and a freshness that I like. Some formulations do not work with spring water and require distilled water so I prefer to make distilled water from fresh spring water so i know where it it coming from.

Liquid crystals have the energetic properties of the crystal imprinted into water like flower essences and also add another dimension some of my alchemy products.

Virgin Cold pressed oils

Cold pressed virgin oils are the most nature identical. Minimal heat is generated in the pressing of the nut or seed to squeeze out the oil. Virgin cold pressed oils are the first pressing of the seed or nut and contain the most nutrients.

Virgin cold pressed butters

Just as with cold pressed oils, there is a difference between chemical extraction, heat treated extraction and cold pressed raw butters. Raw butters are obtained with minimal processing from the nut or seed and also contain more nutrients and fatty acids. Butters provide a rich profile fatty acids and make beautiful creams and balms.

Innovative healthy alternatives for preserving and emulsifying

Any cosmetic skincare or body product that combines water and oil requires emulsifying and preserving.

Fortunately, consumer demand for more natural skin care without questionable chemical compounds that have come from industrial and petro -chemical industries has seen the rise of more natural alternatives.

This has given rise to an exciting and booming industry which is backed by research and development.

For you, the informed consumer, this is good news.

I have been formulating with only natural alternatives for 12 years and trying different options to obtain a stable preserved product that also has a nice slip and feel on your skin.
